The Android app that turns your phone into a camera for Assetto Corsa
Last updated: 12 October 2026
What the app is
DRS Cam (package ua.drs.cam) is an Android app by the DRS Street community. Together with a program on your own PC it uses your phone as a camera inside Assetto Corsa: the phone's movement aims the in-game camera, and the game picture comes back to the phone.
The short version
The app has no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. It does not send anything to us or to any third party. It only talks to your own PC on your own Wi-Fi.
What the app does with data, on your phone
- Motion sensors: the orientation of the phone is sent to your PC, over your local network, to aim the camera in the game.
- Camera: the permission is used only by Google's ARCore library to see how the phone moves back and forth. The camera pictures are not shown, saved or sent anywhere by the app; ARCore handles them on the phone under Google's own terms.
- Network: the app talks to the PC you choose (its address on your Wi-Fi). To find that PC it asks the addresses of your local network, and only those, whether a DRS Cam program is there.
- Game picture and sound: received from your PC over the local network, shown on the screen and recorded when you ask.
- Your photos and videos: saved on the phone, in Pictures/DRS Cam and Movies/DRS Cam. They never leave the phone unless you share them yourself.
- Settings (language, filters, the PC address and so on) are kept on the phone only.
- Licence: your PC program passes the app a signed licence token (the Steam ID of your DRS Street account, your subscription tier, the id of this device and the expiry time). The app checks the signature and uses it to turn features on; it does not send it anywhere.
The PC program and the DRS Street site (not part of the app)
To get that licence the program on your PC signs you in to street.drs-ua.com through your browser, with Steam. The site then keeps your Steam ID, your subscription tier and, for each device (at most two), its name, an id and the time it was last seen. You can see and remove your devices at any time on the DRS Cam page of the site, and you can ask us to delete this data.
Children
The app is not aimed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect anything from them.
